About
Roseanne Neglio, MD, is Associate Medical Director, Pediatrics at the Montefiore Medical Group-Comprehensive Family Care Center. She provides care to pediatric patients from birth to age 21. After earning her Bachelor of Science from Saint John’s University, Dr Neglio attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 1994. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Montefiore in 1997, taking on the role of Clinic Chief Resident in her final year. Dr Neglio has an interest in quality improvement, serving on several group initiatives with Montefiore Einstein including the Asthma Quality Improvement Project, the Clinical Standardization Team and the Pediatric Transformation Team.

Karen Warman, MD, MSc, provides general pediatric care for children from infancy through adolescence and teaches medical students and residents. Dr Warman is the founder and director of the Pediatric Preventive Asthma Care Program at Montefiore’s Comprehensive Family Care Center. Regionally, she serves on the New York City Asthma Partnership (NYCAP) Steering Committee and co-chairs NYCAP’s Environment Group, which focuses on attaining habitable housing for children with asthma to reduce asthma morbidity. She also serves as a consultant for the American Lung Association-Northeast and the NYC Department of Health. In the latter capacity, she trains school nurses in New York City to manage asthma in the schools.
Amy S. Ciner, MD Pediatrician
Amy S Ciner, MD, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Ciner’s clinical focus is on general pediatrics and medical student and resident education. In 1997, Dr Ciner received her Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College, Columbia University. She then pursued her medical degree at New York Medical College, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2002. For her postgraduate training, Dr Ciner came to CHAM and Einstein, completing her pediatrics internship and residency in 2005. Dr Ciner’s research interests include pediatric nutrition and wellness and medical education.
Denis Traore, MD Pediatrician
Denis Traore, MD, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Instructor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Traore’s clinical focus is on pediatric medicine, with a particular interest in newborn medicine. He also focuses on health equity, social determinants of health, quality and performance improvement and resident and medical student education. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in neurobiology, physiology and behavior from the University of California, Davis, in 2010, Dr Traore earned his Doctor of Medicine at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten in 2016.

Sophie J Balk, MD, is an Attending Pediatrician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Balk’s clinical focus is on general pediatrics, as well as pediatric environmental health. In 1969, Dr Balk received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at Cornell University. She then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine and received her Doctor of Medicine in 1974. Dr Balk’s postgraduate training, which began in 1974 and ended in 1977, was done at Montefiore. During this time, she completed an internship and residency in Pediatrics.

Miriam Schechter, MD, is Director, Medical Student Education at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Schechter is a general pediatrician who splits her time between her active practice at the Comprehensive Family Care Center (CFCC) and medical student education. Dr Schechter’s clinical practice has been based at CFCC for over 25 years. She has held many undergraduate medical education leadership positions in the department, serving as the co-clerkship director in Pediatrics for almost 2 decades.

Caitlin Gilman, MD, MPH, is an Attending Physician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, specializing in providing pediatric primary care. She then received her Doctor of Medicine in 2014 from the New York University School of Medicine.
